A world class marathon runner who began jogging strictly as a leisure activity in elementary school, Aztec carries a distinguished record in competition as both a 4-time Boston Marathon winner and 5-time New York Marathon winner. Arguably his greatest glory came in 1992, when he won the Marathon silver medal at the Summer Olympics in Barcelona. The lack of a gold medal will lead him to Atlanta in 1996 for another try.
Cheerful, determined, and gregarious, Aztec's popularity blossomed in high school despite losing a hotly-contested class presidential race to Can Head. Aztec ran on the platform of wanting security cameras in the bathrooms and locker rooms because security guards urinating on the floors made the areas unsafe. The student body remained cool to the Big Brother idea. Nonetheless, Aztec became class valedictorian when he graduated from Gasi High in 1989.
Aztec considers PPI one of his best friends, even though that friendship proves hazardous to his health. He had the unfortunate pleasure of being PPI's passenger the day she drove maniacally down the mountain and nearly killed herself, and her role as his campaign manager in the halcyon days of the junior class election put a sizable dent in his bank account.
