As the much-awaited sequel to Papyrus NASCAR Racing, Sierra's NASCAR Racing 2 ups the ante even further, making the player car noticably easier to drive, improving AI behavior of the computer cars, and generating richly detailed car graphics surpassing even those of Grand Prix 2. Players can pick and choose competitors from different driver lists, and instead of the traditional car sets, starting fields now consist of individual car files, which also contain driver portraits and detailed statisical and biographical information.
Players can compete on all 1996 Winston Cup tracks except Daytona and Indianapolis (though there are conversion programs which permit the latter), and a Track Pack due later this summer may add new facilities such as Texas, California, and Homestead.
Of course, the program would not be "complete" without Rover Jackson and his famous #76 Unocal Pontiac Grand Prix. The .car file for Rover's 1996 car is available here as a zipped file. Thanks to Al Gordon for his assistance in assembling this file.
Other Winston Cup cars, including those shown below, can be found at the IWCCCARS Project site.
