First held in 1992, the Unions Seminar is a public forum geared towards introducing and explaining the Unions to a live audience (due primarily to the sporadic production of new comic strips). For one enlightening hour, I discuss fundamental points on the history and development of the Unions, key themes found among the characters and within the strip, and what the future holds in store for the Unions.
On January 26, the latest installment of the Seminar took place before a camera crew which videotaped the event not just for posterity, but also for future broadcast on Austin Community Television. The completed program, with all post-production work in the hands of Sean McKinley, finally arrived at ACTV headquarters on October 20.
On November 5, access cable history was made with the very first television broadcast of the Seminar. Subsequent airings ran on November 8, 10, 20, 21, 24, and 25.
For those not in Austin, videotaped copies will be available for purchase (price TBA).
